Led by a Unit­ed Methodist min­is­ter, mem­bers of a reli­gious group favor­ing abor­tion rights crit­i­cized Kansas Attor­ney Gen­er­al Phill Kline on Mon­day for what they called “inva­sion of pri­va­cy” in his bid to obtain per­son­al infor­ma­tion about women seek­ing late-term abortions.

“If this breach of med­ical pri­va­cy is allowed to go for­ward, no one of us, man or woman, can have con­fi­dence that our med­ical records can be held as pri­vate,” said the Rev. Bill Ester, pas­tor of West Side Unit­ed Methodist Church and co-chair­man of the Kansas Reli­gious Coali­tion for Repro­duc­tive Choice.
