The first insem­i­na­tion of a Giant Pan­da in the US this year occurred with­in the past cou­ple of days at the San Diego Zoo. Accord­ing to San Diego Zoo offi­cials “Gao Gao” and “Bai Yun” mat­ed yes­ter­day and today after being observed yip­ping and dis­play­ing oth­er courtship like behav­iors. Researchers are sure this cop­u­la­tion was a suc­cess, with Bai Yun to give birth in late summer.
