- State Board of Edu­ca­tion mem­ber Steve Abrams, R‑Arkansas City, explain­ing his objec­tion to stan­dards for teach­ing social stud­ies in Kansas schools.

The new stan­dards would have empha­sized glob­al his­to­ry and cul­tures. Appar­ent­ly the Board also reject­ed a pro­pos­al to teach com­par­a­tive religions.
