I think I’ve come up with an apt anal­o­gy of the Evo­lu­tion debate, (and if some­one already came up with this anal­o­gy, I apol­o­gize for try­ing to steal their thunder).

Imag­ine is there was a debate about the Eng­lish cur­ricu­lum and some­one said the follow.

‘Some peo­ple think the cor­rect spelling is, “col­or” and some peo­ple think it’s, “colour.” There­fore, we should teach Span­ish in all Eng­lish class­es instead.’

No one would take them seri­ous­ly, but that’s exact­ly what’s hap­pen­ing in this debate now.
