Lies…
and the lying liars who tell them.

FISA does not authorize warrantless taps against American citizens for more than 15 days, and those 15 days have to follow a declaration of war. Warrantless searches can last up to a year, but only if:
there is no substantial likelihood that the surveillance will acquire the contents of any communication to which a United States person is a party
This was unjustified and unlawful.
And I’ve lost all respect for John McCain. On This Week with George Stephanopoulos, he basically said that the president’s actions are justified if he consults with the Congressional leadership. This is undoubtedly the stupidest thing anyone can say. Consulting with Congress is not the same as passing a law, nor is it the same as getting a warrant. George Stephanopoulos consults with the Congressional leadership regularly, too, but he doesn’t get to read my email, and neither does the President.
Furthermore, Nancy Pelosi doesn’t recall being consulted about this program, so the whole thing is up in the air.
There need to be Congressional hearings, and they need to be public, because I want to know if my phone calls have been monitored or my emails read.
I don’t trust the Peeping Tom in Chief.
