Senator Pat Roberts, chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, has not issued a statement about the spying on American citizens, nor on any possible role the committee he chairs might have played in overseeing that activity.
I’m trying to talk to his press secretary.
I don’t expect him to come out against it, after all, this is one of only 9 senators who voted to authorize the use of torture ad libitum. If he were prepared to defend the program, I’d think he would have said something by now. I can’t believe his silence is any sort of implicit criticism, though.
